Web-based professional development eLearning Alabama uses a Web-based model to provide effective professional development that leads to gains in teacher’s content knowledge, improvements in their teaching practices and increases in the achievement of their students. eLearning Alabama is Alabama’s implementation of the E-Learning for Educators Initiative, a project funded through a federal Ready to Teach grant and multi-state collaboration between ten state education agencies and associated public broadcast stations. The program is implemented through the Alabama Department of Education Technology in Motion . eLearning Alabama is an excellent way to move forward on your own professional development responsive to your schedule and needs.

Trip for Students in Grades 4 and Higher Available On-air and Online February 15, 2012 10:00-11:00 EST or 1:00-2:00 EST On February 15, 2012 students nationwide will be
given the exciting opportunity to experience Mount Vernon, the historic estate
of George and Martha Washington! Uniting living history and education,
students will be able to question experts, interact in an online poll, and
access a wealth of information from historical interpreters in a FREE, live,
electronic field trip entitled “Exploring Mount Vernon.” This 21st
century learning model, rich with content and historical significance,
encourages students to actively engage in the learning process by becoming a
